Portrait of Anita Jo Ross

Anita Jo Ross

February 1, 1977 – May 19, 2026

Anita Jo Ross was born on February 1, 1977, in Seattle, Washington. Ever since she was a little girl, Anita was known for her peaceful, quiet, and gentle soul.

The peace she carried came from her best friend, Jesus Christ. The thing that Anita loved most was sitting at the feet of her Savior. She spent her days reading the Bible, listening to Gospel music, and journaling her prayers. Second to spending time with God, she loved being with her family.

Anita held a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Josephine Jackson-Shaw & Steven Harold Ross, the beloved stepdaughter of Silas Shaw, and a treasured granddaughter of Anita Pauline Ross & Willie Wade Ross.

Anita shared a close bond with her brother, Andrae Tyrone Ross. She was a sister-in-law to Stephanie Michelle Ross and a stepsister to Cory Shaw & Sean Shaw.

Above all, Anita treasured her role as a mother to LaKendra Cenia-Jo Storts and lovingly welcomed Solomon Lee Storts as her son-in-law. She found immense joy in being a grandmother of Truth Jo Anne Storts.

She was also a compassionate aunt to Jakayla Anita Ross, Tahlia Renee Ross, and Avalynn Geraldine Ross, and a step-aunt to Sean Shaw Jr., Johnny Shaw, Jeffery Shaw, Cory Shaw Jr., and Whisper Shaw.

Anita went home to the Lord on May 19, 2026, at the age of 49, in Jones, Oklahoma. She will be remembered for her devotion to Jesus, quiet spirit, peaceful nature, and gentle love she carried throughout her life.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
